How the church promotes having children out of wedlock

At first glance at the title, you might think that there is no way the church will knowingly promote such a thing... and you would be right. They are doing it unconsciously. I was at the local christian fellowship on campus around valentine. And of course the topic of the day was relationships. They had people write questions on a piece of paper to ask the panel (consisted of 4 students, a boyfriend/girlfriend and 2 single people of the opposite sex). At first people where asking punk ass questions like, how can i find the person of my dreams and other fairy tale questions. Then they messed up and let me and my friends get in our questions. I wont go through all the questions we asked except for one.

I dont remember how the question came up but it consisted of whether as a christian male we should carry around a condom. We knew what the answer would be but we wanted to spice up the event. Well one of the responses was, you shouldnt because when you buy the condom that means you are intending to use it, intending to sin. One other guy in the crowd said he leaves his own in the car so that he has to go all the way over to the car to get it, and by the time he walks to the car he would have been able to think it through and not do it. And everyone was commenting on his genius. I think to myself, what if the thing is about to happen in the car, what will you do? Or lets say he tell the chick he has to go get the condom and then she says dont worry i got one. Wetin he go do?

I have noticed christian organizations have a problem talking about protection, it is all about abstinence. They wont even fund programs that talk about protection, they say it leads to promiscuity. They forget that we are all human, that we are made in "His" Image not a carbon copy. We will fall, and if we dont know how to fall safely, we will dislocate/fracture/sprain/bruise our lives. Talking to my fellow christian compatroits and i realize a lot of them are ignorant about sexual stuff. I pray that some guy/girl does not use this ignorance and do them bad thing. Because the thing i have found out is that it is harder to remain a virgin/celibate because it says so in the bible than it is when you are doing it because you want to. For me, knowing i am doing it because i choose to made it so much easier.

Back to the title, the church's refusal to talk about protection leads to babies being born out of wedlock. Because they do not want to be a bad christian, they wont buy the condom or learn how to put it on properly or go on the pill. Because they are a good christian after they "fall" they will pray to God to forgive them instead of going to walgreens and buying that plan B. Because they are a good christian they wont have an abortion. Because they are good christians they will have a beautiful bouncing baby out of wedlock. Church- 1 Christian- 0
wetin una think?

I feel this post bro, i've always wondered about it..
Plus this days our parents don't even ask us whether we are still virgins. They don't even have the sex ed talk with us, so all that See no Evil, Hear no evil state of mind might also contribute to their offspring having kids out of wedlock

HAHA more reasons not to go to church.

It's subconscious but yes they definitely aren't helping the STD and baby thing. I won't say they promote it sha.

My mama is a pastor and was very quick to preach abstinence but told me about condoms and BC just in case. She knew her daughter well

hehehe..i feel this one totally. this is the kind of accusation that holds water. i know by experience that a lot of brothers will prefer to look like gud xtians and carry a condom-less wallet which kinda SUCKS cos no matter what..things tend to happen. its like not carrying a gun in a war zone cos bible said thou shalt not kill

LOL@ Azazel... yea i always wanted to ask my mom why i never got the talk. The only thing i heard about it was my mom telling me at 20, if you get a girl pregnant, you are marrying her.

LOL@ Vanity, your mom knew that the abstinence crap was not doing anyhting...lol

love El-divine's gun in a war zone analogy, i often use it

What is it with you and the church anyway?
I don't see you criticizing any other religion oh..
But well, whatever..
Abstinence covers it all; it prevents the deed!
preaching protection negates everything Christianity stands for and I know you do know that.
So, if and when the deed is done, why would you compound it by encouraging abortion?
PLEASE!

lol@ 2cute4u ... someone does not realize that there are more than one contributors to the blog... this was not Azazel, it is realist. I dont always criticize the church, even tho i plan on doing it more often:-). And last time i checked the church was not a religion.

LOL@ yea in a perfect world abstinence is ideal. But we are all humans, we will fall, we need to be prepared for the fall. I dont know if you are abstinent or not, but you know it is hard regardless. Like El-Divine said its like not bringing a gone to a warzone because killing is wrong.

And the only reason i talked about abortion is to show how the child will end up being born, which is the title of the write up.

The moral of this post is, if you don't go to church, you will reduce your chances of getting pregnant.

I hope I can quote you realist when I tell my mum that's why I don't go to church

@Vanity, I don't think thats the moral of the story. I think the theme to be learned here is that, human nature is a stubborn and rebellious nature. Not even God has learned this lesson, talk-less of his worshipers. In Eden, God told them not to eat out of two certain trees, what did they do? Eat out of those trees. God gave ten commandments, what do we do, break 'em till today. Idk why God hasn't learned from past experiences that if He wants something done, he needs to order the opposite. If He wants us to sit, He should order us to stand; if He wants us to abstain from sex, He should force sex into us. Simple. Maybe the Christians can learn from this ideology, because obviously their current one ain't working.

I love how Messiah is explaining to me like he genuinely thought I was serious

@Vanity, my bad for taking you seriously, it's just that I thought you were serious

lol@Vanity... yea you can tell your mom Realist said that. But on the real, there is a lot of sexual tension with young die hard christians, thats why they will quickly get married. I have had multiple girls say they cant wait to get married so they can have all the sex they want in all the places...lol
