Random Thoughts and Observations on Twitter and Facebook

I have various random thoughts on the whole twitter and facebook phenomenon. The thoughts might or might not have anything to do with each other...lol here they go. *Forgive me for not making sense, it is past my bed time and sleep is calling my name*

Twitter and facebook statusses make me laugh. Especially when people make statusses like "the new me starts, tomorrow, no more will take shit from anybody" Then the next day you see them in person expecting to see a difference and they are the same person, taking shit from everyone. Or you look at some chick's bio on twitter and it says "everything you want but cant have". Like really? only one person can have all the things i want but i cant have her? My life is over, why am i still existing, suicide is the only option. It is like people are using their tweets to compensate for their lack of self pride. If you were that great of a person, you would not need to tweet "i know i am the shit and your boyfriend knows it to".

The one that pissed me off is when someone can not survive without twitter. this girls' twitter statusses went like this "look at those guys throwing that ball, it better not hit me" "oh my god the ball hit me" "it hurts" "he apologised, oooh he is so cute, ill let him hit me anytime" "he said i was bleeding" "oh i am bleeding, where is a band aid when u need one" "he is slick looking at my boobs as he is putting on the bandaid" Like really, did you need to tweet all that? All the time you were tweeting, you messed around and got that cut infected.

I cant even do anything without someone tweeting it, is like the paparazzi is always around. People looking for something to tweet. "Oh look at him looking at her like that" or "these people are dancing like freaks, so disgusting" when the only reason it is disgusting is because you are not doing it. Folks be given blow by blow coverage of fights, with pre and post fight coverage. Everyone has their phones out at this party, waiting to find something tweet worthy. This 2 guys are having a tweet convo and they are next to each other wth? Why must you fail?

People seem to forget that twitter is REAL. I have one friend that keeps telling me "it is just twitter, no one takes it serious" when i text her saying she should watch what she is tweeting. I just can not understand it, twitter is real!! you do not need to be telling people your business on there because best believe people will talk and the wont care that it is just "twitter". Maybe i am just too conscious of how i people view me.

This chick is out here acting or ladylike... wth? she forgets that we all read her twitter. Was she not the one the other day saying that "you were nothing but a penis to me, i dont even remember your name, so stop trying to speak to me like we r cool". What is ladylike about that? Now this chick is out here acting like God is the only male that has seen her naked. If you are a whore and want to act like a lady, do me a favor and dont tweet about your whorish ways. I have no problems with whores that know they are whores... know and play your position.

Twitter is from the Illuminatti

WHY DO GIRLS ALWAYS GIVE IN??

First of all, the title of the post is a generalization. Girls do not always give in, but most of the time they do LOL.

Now some of you probably think am talking in terms of giving into sex or peer pressure but sadly and most unfortunately that is not the case.

The type of 'giving in' am talking about is where a guy and girl have a little spat and then communication ceases for awhile, no more phone call, no more tweets, no more bbm, aim, yahoo messenger, NOTHING. And if you the two people are on some 'Oleku' level the 'no communication' probably lasts for 2 weeks until one of them usually the girl starts to 'THINK' and suddenly she's imagining whether he's ok? Whether she was at fault? Whether she shouldn't just give in and Ping him? Ping the living day lights out of that baggar until he responds lol.

Like for me for example, am a cold cold dude lmao, I can go a month and I won't ping you. Or even think of contacting you, I will literally forget you ever existed. (Got that from my mama) lol I kid I kid.
My point is this though, I was talking to a female friend of mine about that and I believe that the women who actually make the effort to be the first to restore communication are obviously the 'bigger person' in the relationship. And NOPE women are not weak because they finally bow and give in and pick up the phone and call, it actually takes a lot of strength to do that. So to all those lovely women who've realised that nobody ever choked
by swallowing their pride and picked up their phone to call that 'baggar of a dude' to
reconcile. I say to you 'More Grease to your ashy ashy elbows" lol.

IS YOUR RELIGION WORTH DYING FOR???

So I and my friend were chilling watching Fox News and the controversy about an islamic center being built on a land owned by Muslims in Tennessee came up. This community center is different from the one in New York incase some of you were wondering. And also, some of you might be wondering what is up with Islamic community centers being built everywhere this days? Am wondering the same to LOL I kid I kid.

Anywayz, my friend then said something like "You would never see christians saying they want to kill for their religion or die for their religion" and to which I replied "because their religion is not worth dying for".

Now before we go on with every other thing pertaining to this blog post, I want to ask whether the religion each and every single one of you practices is worth dying for? If yes, Why is it worth dying for?

Somepeople then said it was because 'Jesus already died for the sins of christians" but Allah seems to prefer that 'muslims die for their own sins".. That elicited a huge LOL from me...

TRUTH DON DIE

"We would not let ourselves be burned to death for our opinions; We are not sure enough of them for that. But perhaps for the right to have our opinions and to change them."

When a person accuses you of being fake, that they know the 'Real Azazel' do they not assume that the Azazel they knew before was the real Azazel? My professor brought that up in class the other day, you see some people accuse somebody they've known of being or acting 'fake'. But who says that the person they are now, is not the real person ? And even if they've changed, is that not a human quality? The ability to change when you please?

She asked me whether I wanted to go to church with her on Sunday to a revelation seminar. I asked whether the seminar would be at a church and she said yes. She said she wanted me to attend because she had heard me say that I want Truth and that she was offering me the opportunity to find truth at the seminar. I then asked her, are you 100% sure that I will find truth at the seminar? She then replied and I quote " If you believe that the bible holds truth, then yes". See the problem with that response is that for me to find truth, I would first have to believe that the bible is 100% true.  That left me little wiggle room.

I do believe that some parts of the bible are true, some parts of the bible are lies and other parts are simply plagiarism. Now in her mind, she believes the bible is true 100% and to be honest I can't imagine how a human being full of reason can read the entire bible and approve the whole thing to be true. If indeed she believed the entire bible to be true, I would hope she would be satisfied with the way women are treated in the bible?

Got into a little spat with them folks at amebor.com. I am still of the opinion that they are a gossip site that has no substance whatsoever. In their defence, their website is not all about gossip, they have a business section to LOL. But seriously the fact that it's a gossip site run by grown men sort of makes me wonder about my dreams in life. Can you imagine if I had told my father that when I grow up I want to be CEO of a gossip site. Hmm na wa o.

Came across this quote that I wished to share with all my readers.

Let the child believe that he is always in control, though it is always you the teacher who really controls. There is no subjugation so perfect as that which keeps the appearance of freedom, for in that way one captures volition itself.
The poor baby, knowing nothing, able to do nothing, having learned nothing, is he not at your mercy? Can you not arrange everything in the world which surrounds him? Can you not influence him as you wish? His work, his play, his pleasures, his pains, are not all these in your hands and without his knowing? Doubtless he ought to do only what he wants: but he ought to want to do only what you want him to do; he ought not to take a step which you have not forseen; he ought not to open his mouth without your knowing what he will say

I went to Church..

Disclaimer: This post is not the view of every member of this blog but solely reflects me and my views. It will definitely be offensive and I know this will not stop you from reading but I just want to point that out. I urge you to read objectively and rationally and I welcome all comments negative or not. This is a long post so grab a cookie

I went to church and as you well know this cannot end well.  I tried to pay attention and give the bible a chance and now that I am sane(r), I can now rationally say "The bible sucks". I understand this is a book that means a lot to be billions of people but to me it means nothing. And as thus I am going to give it the same respect as I would to a John Grisham novel.

While the bible does offer a lot of upliftment and encouragement, I can get the same thing from an inspirational novel or one of those self help books. To me, the bible is a sexist pig. Well maybe not the whole bible but the writers of certain parts of the bible to be politically correct. So if I am trying to be correct I should say "Some of the bible sucks". Is that better?

Call me a self righteous feminist but I believe men and women can and should be treated equally. I have uni-sexualised my words and thoughts and behaviors. So when the bible starts with its belief of submission on the part of just women I am immediately defensive. So today the pastor happened to be talking about woman's role in life and as soon as he started reading from that chapter I should have walked out and would have saved myself this whole post but I didn't because well they were serving food after the service (Judge away). So being the open minded individual that I am, I walk up to the pastor later respectfully and ask him if he doesn't think the bible is sexist. He starts off by saying since I am not christian, I cannot understand the bible and all it's complexities, basically he finds ways to bullshit around the whole issue and gives me one or two verses where the bible praises womanhood. I walked away because I could not be bothered to argue when there was good food being served and honestly I was about to start cursing and that would be disrespectful.

I get so tired of this, “You’re not a Christian, so obviously you don’t know anything about the Bible.” I grew up with the Bible. I probably know a lot more about the bible than some of you. I went to Sunday school. I went to church. I went to Wednesday services. I sang in the church choir. I’ve read the Bible.

While, yes, there are some parts of the Bible that do move away, slightly, from the view that women are inferior, there aren’t nearly enough of those passages to overcome the overall view that women are second class citizens in the Christian religion and that the preferred woman is one who is silent, chaste, and submissive.

A big part of the reason why, despite spending 15 years where Christianity was all that I knew, I never could commit to the faith was because of the degrading way the Bible treats women. Over and over and over and over.

Yes, I understand that the Bible is reflective of the culture that produced it, which was misogynistic and believed/treated women as inferior and as property. The issue I have with the excuse that the Bible simply reflects the culture during which it was written is that makes the Bible something that can be dated and more importantly outdated. If they allow for that then how can it really be the true Word? In my mind as soon as someone allows for a less than perfect rating on the Bible - the entirety of it is questionable and their entire religious stance is flawed.

Either own the whole Bible or none of it I say.
(I choose the latter)

However, that only reinforces my belief that the Bible is far more a product of humans than it is of anything divine. And any divinity that honestly advocated for the sort of ideas about women that are so frequently espoused in the Bible is one that doesn’t deserve my worship, praise, and certainly not my obedience.Which is why I cannot bring myself to believe in the same biblical God that Christians do.

I get it. Christians pick and choose what parts of the Bible are important and unimportant. While it’s admirable that you choose to ignore the more sexist and dehumanizing passages of the Bible in favor of the more progressive passages of the Bible, because you believe it’s more in keeping with the spirit of Christ, it doesn’t really change the content of the Bible, which says a lot of things that I find deeply offensive and insulting and damaging.

It doesn’t really change the fact that those who hold anti-women views can find more than enough backup to reinforce their views in the Bible…which is far less a matter of what is or isn’t.

So, yeah. I’m not a Christian. But it doesn’t mean that I can’t read the multiple passages that say, “Women, you are to be submissive to your husbands,” and not be able to figure out that what the Bible is saying is, “Women, you are to submit to your husbands.” It’s nice that you read that and go, “Well, it could mean something else,” or “Well, there’s this other part that is nicer to the ladies.” But to argue that these words somehow confused me because I am not christian or that I shouldn't question God is just unacceptable.

Seriously?

The Bible begins, in Genesis, with putting all the blame for the pain and suffering of humanity on a woman’s shoulders. And then women are punished for all eternity because one lady got down with a serpent.
“Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die.”
Women are viewed as subjects of their husbands.
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.”
Women’s value is seen almost exclusively in their ability to keep their mouths and their legs shut.
“A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord: and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed. A shamefaced and faithful woman is a double grace, and her continent mind cannot be valued.”
“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.”
“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”
“That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.”
So does that mean Female pastors are going to hell? Is Benson Idahosa's wife going to hell for not always covering her head or does her weave count as a hair covering? And then there are verses that prevent women from teaching in church. (I Corinthians 14:33-35, 1 Timothy 2:11-12).” Actually, it’s “Thou shalt not SPEAK in church.” At all. Ever. And this time it's from the new testament too. I mean if Mrs Idahosa wasn't going to hell before, she is now and so are your female pastors and deaconesses. I mean really and then you sit there and tell me how I should respect the bible and believe in it?
Take that shit home, bitch (in the words of co-blogger and future mating partner, Realist) and eat multiple dicks.

WHEN IS IT OK TO STEAL LAND FROM OTHER PEOPLE???

Long time no blog post from me, I apologise but I was busy with school and also with planning the best Nigerian Independence Day Party for California. Three of our beloved contributors were in attendance at that event, Vanity, Afrikim and Messiah. The party was fun and am glad that it's over so I can focus on better things, most importantly school.

So forgive me if am back on that religious tip but this one came to me today as I was thinking about the Native Americans and their terrible plight at the hands of them Americans lol.

If you are a student of American History, you will remember that the 'white man' came and basically took over the land that was already occupied by the Native Americans. They forged false treaties, they lied, they conquered and they basically forced the Native Americans of land that was already theirs and there were instances of genocide perpetuated by the Europeans . Now most people generally point to that episode of American History as a terrible terrible thing that should never have happened.

But then this got me to thinking of other times in history in which people have been forcibly forced of their lands and as usual I always find something in the Holy book to back up my point LOL.

Do you all remember the time when God promised Abraham and his descendants the land of the Canaanites?

Genesis 15:18-21

On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates - the land of the Kenites,KenizzitesKadmonitesHittitesPerizzitesRephaitesAmoritesCanaanitesGirgashites and Jebusites."

The verse clearly shows that there were people who were living in those lands already before God decided to play bully and kicked them out so his 'precious little jews' could have a land to live in.

My question then is this, in one instance, what the americans did to the native americans is seen by many to be wrong abi? But then what about what the Israelites did to the people of those nations living in those lands, is it also wrong? Or is it made right because God promised it to them?

Now if you say yes it is right because God promised it to them, do tell, how does one tell what God has promised a person and what he hasn't? Afterall the Europeans could easily have stated that God told them to take the land the Native Americans occupied and they would be well within their biblical rights to claim such. After all, if God could promise it to the Jews, he could also promise it to the Europeans.

NIGERIA IS 50

So i feel like Truth Don Die should have a Nigeria is 50 post. Everyone is doing it. You might expect us to have a cynical post about how bad Nigeria is (well maybe another contributor would have) but i wont. Sometimes it is good to just be happy. And my flag i got from ebay made it in yesterday...yay!!!

We can lament about how bad it is, how unfulfilled our potential is, how Ghana has surpassed us, or some other BS. But umm i wont do that. We are 50 years old. At 50 yrs old, America still had slavery, at 50 years old America was killing Indians for fun. So if we are going to compare countries, Nigeria is not too bad for 50 yrs.

Of course, we have our problems, there are major problems like MEND kindly reminded us today. Me being from Delta state, i have mixed reactions to the act. But i dont feel like upsetting people today so i will not say my opinions...lol I am happy to be Nigerian even though i havent been home in about 9-10 yrs. Even though i was Born in America, i do not call Washington D.C. home. I am a Lagos boy from Asaba, Delta State. I dont even care to celebrate July 4th here. But on October 1st!!! it is on. I dont live in a city with a lot of Nigerians. But today the few of us at school are coming together to celebrate in style. So I wish everyone of you luck in your celebrations.

Hip Hip Hip...hooray!!!

P.S. I am especially thankful that Azazel's party is on the horizon, he will no longer infest my facebook and twitter with it...lol Goodluck with the party bro, i wish my location was closer to California so i can attend.
