THE BIBLE: WORD OF GOD? OR WORD OF DEMON?

Before I go on with my theory I want to lay down some ground rules..
1. If while reading this, you find yourself seeking to justify 'evil', pause and ask yourself why it is so important to you to justify evil than believe that men like you and I committed evil acts under the guise of 'God told us to do it'.

THE BIBLE BLASPHEMES AGAINST GOD!!

Lately I have been refining my spiritual belief systems, I used to flat out reject both God and the bible. I never for once considered that both the bible and God could be mutually exclusive. The reason for this is because like most of us who suffer from 'intellectual cowardice/mental lying', we are unable to distinguish between the two because that is what we have been raised up to believe and accept. When some of us think of God, we think of the bible, when we think of the bible we think of God. A critique of one is considered a critique of the other and vice versa. Well today, I intend to separate the two of them from each other and critically examine two of them separately. Sometimes, when debating religion with some people, I sometimes make a statement about the bible and my opponent says something like, the bible cannot be wrong because God does not lie or God is perfect or something in that nature. Well, the bible was not written by God sadly. Thomas Paine states that, "That God cannot lie is no advantage to your argument, because it is no proof that priests can not, or that the bible does not." So you see, I believe that God is not capable of lying, but that does not mean that the men who wrote the bible are not incapable of doing so.

I will first of all state my own belief system and then proceed from there.
I believe in One God, and no more. I also hope for happiness beyond this life.
I believe that my religious duties include loving my own neighbor as myself, doing justice, showing mercy, being kind etc.

The bible blasphemes against God, some of you say how? There are things in that book, said to be done by the express command of God, that are as shocking to humanity, and to every idea we have of moral justice, When we read in the books of the Old testament where the Israelites came by stealth upon whole nations of people, and how they killed all inhabitants of those nations; that they did not consider either age or infants; that they utterly destroyed men, women and children; that they left not a soul to breathe; these examples  are repeated over and over again in the bible, are we sure these things are facts? are we sure that the God sanctioned those evil acts? Are we sure that the books that tell us so were written by his authority? To believe such things to be true is to believe that God is not a God of moral justice, what type of God would sanction the killing of infants/children? What offence could they have possibly committed?
.

In 1 Samuel 15. God supposedly tells Samuel to go tell Saul that he wants him to destroy all the Amalekites, God supposedly states, "Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy[a] all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys."

Now what manner of God would support the outright genocide of a people he himself created? And further more, what type of God would support the slaughter of children and infants? And everyday christians read these parts of the bible and gloss over it like it's nothing, never pausing to ask ourselves which seems more likely? That God would support such wickedness? or that men like you and I would attribute the wickedness of men as divine commandments from God?

A lot of us take it for granted that the bible is true and we permit ourselves never to doubt it. I know I once thought like that myself, once you permit yourself to believe that the bible in all of its entirety is true, you will find it hard to critically assess it. When most of us think about God, we don't think about a God that would sanction the murder of children and infants but yet we permit ourselves to believe that the same benevolent God we believe in is the same one who sanctioned those same actions in 1 Samuel 15?  Na wa o.
Any book that would describe God sanctioning such evil is not a Word of God, it is the Word of a Demon.

There are a lot more of these examples in the bible, but for the sake of time and because it is not my intention to write a book I will ask that you all do your research, or ask me to provide more and I will.

Instances such as Judges 21 which is so bizarre yet included in the bible, make no sense to me. And this is a book that we are supposed to believe is the Word of God? Why is it that whenever we read these obscene stories in the bible that describe God as approving such evil as murder/rape why are we not led to condemn such a book as the word of a demon than as the word of God? What exactly leads us to believe that any God would approve of such evil?  The bible is a book that brings great dishonor to God's name, and the fact that 2 billion people take it as his 'word' is nothing short of amazing.

I believe "mental lying" leads us to believe such stories without giving them any thought. Thomas Paine states,   " It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind, as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime."
And to think that all this while, I have been called a blasphemer for the things I professed religiously. HA, the irony here is tomuch for me to bear. And they say that the bible is a book "inspired" by God? Hahaha please what about that book is inspired by God? Most of the things in the book point to it being inspired by the devil himself. It truly is a shame and this doctrine is what 2 billion people in the world hold to be true?

The bible sucks!

Warning! This post will offend many and I am not apologizing for it!
I am currently speaking from a place with a lot of hate. I always try to be tolerant to Christianity and the Bible. I never bash. However, since Christians have decided that they shall not respect what I believe because it isn't 'the truth' I've decided that I'm done being polite. Like my friend says "Fuck civility. Let's all be bitches"

My question is;
What is with the old and new testaments? In fact what is with the bible in general? I think the bible was written by a bunch of fucking idiotic liars who didn’t even think to cross check each others' work. It has so many fucking contradictions, it amazes me that people can even sit there and defend it. So I am starting a new bi-monthly segment, titled “Contradictions in the bible” There are so many that it might take me months and then I’ll let you sit there and lie to yourself and tell yourself that “The word of God shouldn’t be questioned because I am a mere mortal”

Are we saying "God" couldn't make up his mind? Or are we saying that by creating the New Testament, "God” was once wrong with some of his old rules? Which brings about the question, can "God" be wrong? So in that case should we be expecting a new millennium testament because some of that shit is out dated? Also maybe “God” went through therapy and stuff because we have to admit that “God” was a sinister, evil bastard in the Old Testament. He commanded stoning, killing of babies and destruction of people's property. In the New Testament he supposedly comes down as an alter ego and preaches love, joy and happiness.

For the record, I'm sick and tired of people choosing to follow some parts of the Old Testament when it pleases them. No! You either think the Old Testament is outdated or you don't. Do not come at me with some scripture from the Old Testament and when I come back at you, you tell me my scripture is all no longer valid. How about you fuck yourself with your ignorance

Also, don't tell me "Oh Jesus spoke most of the new Testament not God" Negro please. Aren't you the same person that said God and Jesus are one? If Jesus and God are the same, then shouldn’t they like share a mind? Why are they contradicting each other?

Mark 15:34-37, Matthew 27:46-50 - Jesus says: “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” If he’s the same as God, please I’d like you to explain why he thinks he has forsaken himself?

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

This is looking more and more like Multiple personality disorder.
MPD describes a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities (known as alter egos or alters), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

I believe in God, and I’d like to think that my God is sane and shit.

Yours blasphemingly,
Vanity xx

P.S. I’d appreciate if the people who wrote the bible could agree on one creation story because, well, the humans are monkeys theory is making more sense at the moment. Did humans come first or did the animals?

Genesis 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:26 And God said; Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
(Notice how in genesis 1, he says 'let us'. So is there more than one God? Or was Jesus there with him? Or did the angels help him? In that case why does he take the glory for all their work? Isn't that like plagiarism? Also in this chapter, it seems that Eve was planned because he says them while in Chapter 2, Eve is more of an after thought! )

Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him and help meet for him.(How sexist! Notice how it says Help and not companion And how Eve wasn't even planned!)
Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

(If you read my own blog, you'll know I have issues with the family and they are making me read the bible and well, this is what happens when I read the bible. I have to read the whole bible so um yeah. Just about done with genesis!)

Be more like Jesus

I know I look hot. It's a pale pink, flowered, boobed tubed, A line dress that hits just above my knees. My shoes are new dollhouses. Studded and zippered to contrast the ultra girly dress. My hair is a curly bun, and my makeup is as always on point, my signature smoky cat eyes and pale pink lips.

I give myself a once over and walk into the church, it's my friend sister's wedding and I'm like 20 mins late. So as I hurry to my assigned seat, my heels pitter patter on the floor (as heels are known to do) and this causes the whole church's attention to shift to me. Well, being no stranger to attention, I shift my hurried walk into a catwalk. Feeling very cool with myself.

Next thing I know an usher walks up to me. She's 24ish, wearing a pale grey suit two sizes too big and shoes that look like clogs. Brown powder 5 shades too light and ugly plastic ear rings. I beam my best smile at her and whisper "I know where my seat is." Imagine my surprise as she grabs my arm and says rather harshly "Abeg let's go outside, I want to talk to you about something"

I stare in amazement at the crusty nails grabbing my arm. My friend gives me a look like "What is going?" I reply with what is now known as the 'Kanye shrug'. I walk outside with this girl and say "What's up?" Silently hoping she wants me to give her a makeover. As I silently decide what eye shadow would look good on her, out of her too-bright-for-her-complexion-red-lipsticked mouth comes this "We can see your bobbie (breasts), your dress is too short, your shoe too high, you cannot enter this church. You want to come and distract our pastor and brothers?"

I stare in surprise, mouth slightly ajar as she walks away and shuts the door behind her.
As a true naija girl, I walk away head held high and drive to the nearest beer and peppersoup joint awaiting the close of the ceremony and to contemplate the stupidity of this scenario.
As a church, isn't your place to show us the error of our ways as "sinners"? Isn't it your place to take us in and try to make us sin no more? Do you know how empty the bible would be if Jesus had only saved seemingly decent people?

“On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Mathew 9: 12-13
"I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, ‘Here am I, here am I’" Isaiah 65:1

Wouldn't it have been better if after church she walked up to me and tried to preach to me and then explain that if I wanted to come next time, I had to maintain a certain decorum? People like her and whoever invented that rule fail as Christians.

Imagine if I went and bad mouthed the church to all my friends, facebook, twitter, blogsville e.t.c Not just the church, but Christ would lose a lot of potential followers. She would have single handedly gone to hell for the loss of my soul and the thousands of people I would have told who would have decided that Christianity was too much of a hassle.

Now some of you are going to say "Did you not know you were going to church, why did you dress like that?" Imagine if I was a hooker and all my clothes were mini skirts and striper boots. Somehow suddenly I decide to give my life to Christ and your church is the closest to me. I wear my usual clothes that I feel good in after all, the bible or so says “It's what's in my heart that matters” and then I receive treatment like that. Raise your hand if you think I will try another church for a long ass time, if at all.

Anyhow who are you to turn “sinners” away? It’s like a hospitals turning people away for being too sick. If your Jesus, your Messiah, the one who you are supposed to be so much like didn’t turn “sinners” away but went and sought them, Who the Fuck are you?

Ok Also this is unrelated but since am talking about church. It can be argued that God hated sinners. And if God hates sinners and Jesus wants them, doesn’t that kinda trump your God & Jesus the same argument? Or did God have MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) and that’s why he created Jesus to be his alter ego? (waits for thunder to strike…. Ok we’re good)

Here are some examples:
Psalm 5:5 says “The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.”
Psalm 11:5 says “The LORD tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.”
Jeremiah 12:8 says “My heritage has become to me like a lion in the forest; she has lifted up her voice against me; therefore I hate her.”
Hosea 9:15 he says, “Every evil of theirs is in Gilgal; there I began to hate them.”
Psalm 119:119 All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes.

And of course there is the simple but powerful:
Romans 9:13  “As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”"

Yet we flinch from ascribing such an emotion to God? Why is this? Is it not enough to see the Scriptures clearly showing God hating sin and sinners to accept that this is true?

Ok, Am done.

IS GOD ALLOWED TO CHANGE HIS MIND???

Seems like my blog mojo is coming back to me, because I've been M.I.A for a cool minute. The post today is about whether God is ALLOWED to change his mind. First for God to be allowed to change his mind, I must first prove that he is capable of changing his mind. Please before I continue, this post may be confusing to some who don't read their bible on the regular. You know yourselves lol.
In 1 Samuel 15:29
It says "And also the God of Israel will not lie or change his mind; for He is not a man that he should change his mind". This verse states that God can not change his mind because he is not man.
I will then show you all an instance in the bible where God did change his mind. In Isaiah 38, God changes his mind about killing Hezekiah. He first says Hezekiah is going to die, and then after he saves him from dying
" In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
Then in verse 4 God says this - "4 Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah: 5 "Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life."

This is not the first instance in the bible where God has demonstrated a propensity to change his mind, he also changed his mind concerning the people of Israel in Exodus 32:14.
"So the Lord changed his mind about the harm which he said He would do to his people".
Now most of you are probably wondering what my point is, so what if God changed his mind? Am not even trying to say there is anything wrong with it. This post came to my mind as I was reading my Koran, on the back of my Koran it said "The Quran is a complete and original compilation of the Final Revelation from God to mankind through the last Prophet, Muhammad, Peace be upon Him." It also makes a reference to both Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus as being prior prophets/people God revealed stuff to

What drew my mind to that statement was the fact where it referred to Muhammad as the 'LAST' prophet. Now most people would read that and not probably pick up on that word "LAST". It didn't mean there wouldn't be other men of God like pastors/imams etc, rather it referred to Mohammed as the last prophet God revealed anything to vis a vis - Holy Book. The Torah is a Holy Book, Bible is a Holy Book, Quran is a Holy book also. It was saying that Mohammed in my opinion is the last prophet God revealed a Holy Book to? Idk if you guys get my meaning.

Anyhoo, I had always wondered, lets say God decided to 'inspire' people to write another Holy Book would people take that book as being a real Holy book on the level of the bible/koran? Because I feel that even christians and muslims would be skeptical if somebody came out with maybe a Third Testament of the bible? Or Second Testament of the Koran. The Koran passage stated that Mohammed was the last prophet, and am assuming that Allah/God told Mohammed that he would be the last prophet. My main question is this, since God has showed an ability to CHANGE HIS MIND, is it then not possible that he could change his mind about having Mohammed be the last prophet and send another prophet to us? And if that prophet were to then come, would we accept him? Or would we cast him out as a false prophet? Would pastors/Imams not proclaim such a prophet as being a false prophet? And would they be wrong for condemning said prophet? Afterall in their very own holy books it tells them that Mohammed was the last prophet?

For the christians reading, some of you will be like why am I grouping muslims and christians together. Well, I will now focus on the christians. Most of you believe that Christ is the last messiah abi? And the next time he comes it will be for him to come usher us into heaven and rapture and blah blah blah.. Am asking then, is it not possible for God to change his mind about the Jesus coming back a 2nd time plan. And send another person to come do some other work? And if such a person were to come, would we not use the same Holy Bible given to us by God to argue against the person sent from God? But even at that, the same bible has shown that God has a propensity to change his mind.

I came across this quote, yall should check it out. Hopefully it makes sense to some of you.
"Suppose, however, that God did give this law to the Jews, and did tell them that whenever a man preached a heresy, or proposed to worship any other God that they should kill him; and suppose that afterward this same God took upon himself flesh, and came to this very chosen people and taught a different religion, and that thereupon the Jews crucified him; I ask you, did he not reap exactly what he had sown? What right would this god have to complain of a crucifixion suffered in accordance with his own command?"

CAN GOD LIE???

Before I start, THANKS A WHOLE LOT TO THOSE WHO VOTED FOR THIS BLOG @ the Nigerian Blog Awards.. On behalf of all the contributors on this blog, I say 'oshe'(Thank You)

The title of this blogpost probably made a lot of you cringe and internally say 'NO GOD CANNOT LIE'. I hope to examine that common belief that 'man is always wrong, and God is always right'. How many times have men of God told us that God told them to do something, and what they ended up doing became a failure or what God told them to do did not apply to our good senses?
Take Chris Okotie, a pastor in Nigeria, during the last presidential election did he not state publicly that God wanted him to run for public office?? Now if God said he should run for public office, how come God did not ensure that he won the election? So did God lie or did Chris Okotie lie? Most of you are inclined to state that Chris Okotie lied, but why is that?
Personally as I've stated time and time again, I do not think that God is infallible. I have no problem believing that if there was a God, he would be capable of lying.
I remember when the pastor of the church I use to go to stated that God told him to open up a saturday night service at his church, and the whole congregation hailed him and everybody was happy. Six months later, he came back and said that the Saturday night service thing was not working out so he had decided to stop doing it. Now remember that 6 months earlier, God had supposedly given him the green light to go ahead with the service, so why would God give him the green light to go ahead with something that would end up as a failure??
Which brings us to my question again, who lied in this case? God?? or the pastor??

My favorite philosopher Thomas Paine once said "That God cannot lie, is no advantage to your argument, because it is no proof that priests can not, or that the Bible does not."

But then even that quote makes no sense to me, because if priests can lie? and the bible can lie? Why then do we even believe there's a God? Afterall we came to know about God and his characteristics through his prophets and through his 'bible'. So if the priests and the bible can be liars, then is it not possible that the idea of a single God could be a lie?

I just came off this 'heated' debate with Juiceegaal on twitter, ok ok it really wasn't that heated but basically juiceegaal was of the opinion that 'Asking questions is a good thing' and I agreed with her totally but I just had to do a little probing. Sometimes people think that the 'questioning' part should only be relegated to opinions or ideas not to people's personal lives as well. But I believe that the 'questioning' extends to every fiber of our human existence, I am perfectly fine if somebody asks you How many people you've slept with? Do you sleep naked at night? Have you smoked weed? etc, questions should not be relegated only to opinions or ideas that need to be challenged. They can extend into your personal life as well in my opinion and unless you have something to hide, you should not cringe when somebody probes into your life that deeply especially if your somebody who champions the 'need to ask questions'.

James Allen once said "The man or woman who cannot endure to have their errors or shortcomings brought to the surface and made known, but tries to hide them, is unfit to walk the highway of truth..

If you can't bear to have aspects of your life questioned with respect, then you can like to get off the "highway of truth".

HELL HATH NO FURY THAN A GOD 'SCORNED' BY HIS PEOPLE

I was watching CNN while writing this post, and they were showing how the Haitian people were fighting for the food/aid/water that had been 'air-dropped' to them. And the whole scene really affected me, it completely showed me the animalistic/brute nature of man. Please we should be grateful for civilization/government everyday of our lives, because without civilization it would definitely be 'survival of the fittest'/Anarchy 24/7. Those Haitian people have gone without food for four days, some of them even longer. E go remain small and most of them will start eating the meat of the dead people around them. It's so saddening. I watched the 'Book of Eli' last night, that movie was WACK. If not because of Mr Denzel Washington and the respect I have for the homie, I would give that movie a solid F.

Anyhoo, there is something that some 'girls' do that really really ANNOYS THE FUCK outta me. So there's this babe who said that she would go 'crazy' if her boyfriend was ever to be away for 3 weeks. Saying that she would be 'crazy' simply because her boyfriend was no longer around was the height of stupidity for me. How can you honestly say that you'll go mad because a man is no longer around for a couple of weeks? So wetin go come happen if your boyfriend were to die then? Would she commit suicide?? Honestly, it's not healthy when some babes talk like that, it really is not.

Anyhoo unto the main topic sha lol, isn't it funny how with almost every post I write. I talk about two or three different things first before I go to the main 'TOPIC'?? I do not know why I do that. But anywayz what I wanted to talk about was the fact that God almighty has honestly been scorned somany times by his 'chosen/favorite' people the 'Jews'.. Am sure most of you who have read the bible can recall how many times God was scorned/disrespected by the 'Jews'... Everytime, they would stop worshipping him and go and start worshipping Idols, this happened like upto 18 times in the bible. It just got me wondering sha, what kind of God is unable to garner even a single morsel  of 'consistent respect' from the people he deemed as his 'chosen ones'?? Like seriously, if you think about this really well, God is almost like a woman who has been scorned countless times by her adulterous/cheating husband yet she still takes him back everytime he runs crying back to her. What advice would most of us give to such a woman? Would we not ask that such a woman dump the man? And if the woman rebuffed our advice would we not lose serious respect for such a woman? I mean lets think about this constructively, the other 'tribes' of people on earth represent other possible 'men' the woman could have picked. Yet she picked the 'Jewish tribe' to be her main man, yet time and time again she has been respected by this 'man/jews'. Even after God supposedly sent his 'Son of God' to the Jewish people they disrespected him again by killing his Son? Na wa for this kind of fuckerey in high places. Do you know that till today, most Jewish people are still waiting for the Messiah? Anywayz, my point is this, it really worries me that a people who have been closer to God more than any other 'people' on earth have never given him the respect he 'supposedly deserves'. I mean, if the Jewish people never deemed God worthy of their consistent respect, why should we? If God were a woman who continually welcomed back her cheating husband everytime he came back, wuld such a woman not be suffering from mugurity/mumurity of the highest order? Some serious self-esteem issues lol.
Lol, this last segment for the post was written because I was 'musing' about the whole thing, but I would appreciate if some creative//imaginative minds could appreciate where I was coming from. If you still do not get the point of the whole ish, then amma 'shrug' and ask you to seek Jesus fervently.
So am talking to my aunty right, and she believes that gay people are 'immoral/demonic' and she'll keep praying for them until they come out from the influence of that demon in them. Lol all I can do is sigh, I tried to convince her of the folly of her ways but to no avail. It's all good sha, afterall the bible says 'Love thy neighbor as yourself... but if your neighbor happens to be gay...Shoot dat MOFO!'
Fanatic Atheists annoy the heck out of me... I and blasphemy where just talking about this yesterday.. There are some atheists you'll meet who really detest everything and everyone religious. They consider religious people to be fools and ignorant. But honestly what sort of stupid approach is so daft. We are all human beings, no matter what our religious affliation is. If both religious and non-religious people cannot see/appreciate that, this our world is never going to be a better place. I forget who said this quote but it goes like this, "I've met good people who believed in God and I've met good people who did not belive in God.. But I've never met good people who did not believe in 'people'.. And that is what it is right there, I honestly do not care if people are religious or non-religious as long as they appreciate the humanity of every single human being on earth.

IF YOU WERE GOD FOR A DAY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Mehn where do I start? Yesterday, I had a final paper due in one of my classes and I did not know. Only for me to walk into class, and see all these papers stacked up. I asked if any paper was due today, they said yes the final paper. Omo mehn my heart almost stopped beating, I literally begged the teacher to let me turn it in today and I stayed up all night writing the paper lol. It's all good sha. Then I was walking to go hand in the paper today and I was listening to Badman by Mode 9. Only for me to here this Dog bark, I think say Dog they chase me. I almost pick serious race, only for me to realise that the bark came from inside the song. I was now looking around to make sure that nobody had seen me almost pick race. Chai.

So the other day, a friend of mine who happens to be a christian quoted Mohatma Ghandi the Indian. And I sarcastically asked her why she a christian would be quoting a Hindi man who was obviously in hell? Since Ghandi did not obviously go to heaven seeing as he did not confess Jesus as being his lord and savior, why would a christian then be quoting "sayings" from a man who is in hell? You might as well quote Hitler or Stalin etc? Moreover, protestants who are not catholics are not catholics for a reason, obviously protestants do not subscribe to the same beliefs as catholics do. So why would a protestant be quoting "sayings" from a catholic like Mother Theresa? Hmm I wonder. Then to a more interesting note, catholics who are not protestants are obviously not protestants for a good reason, because they also do not subscribe to protestant beliefs. So why would a protestant be quoting "sayings" from a protestant like Martin Luther King. Catholics would not be surprised if protestants end up in hell, and protestants would not be surprised if catholics end up in hell. Anywayz, I was just wondering Lol.

To my last point, I was wondering what you guys would do if it was possible for you to be God for a day? What would you do? I know some of you typically lack the ability to imagine, but just imagine the possibility of being God for a day. What would you be able to do?

Hope Finals are going well for you guys? Hope the GPA's keep on rising lol.

HUMAN COMPASSION IS A JOKE!!!

So I just finished watching Blood Diamonds again, and well at the end of the movie they said only 40 countries signed an accord that would stop the illegal sale of diamonds, and this frigging made me sad this early morning. There are 200 countries in the world, how can only 40 countries sign an accord that stopped the illegal sale of diamonds. Diamonds btw which help put a lot of people in misery, people die for such shit. Honestly, yall shouldn't think I am one sentimental fool, but it bugs me how people can just stand by and watch people die like that.
I have a question for you guys, If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound"? I got this inspiration from   Enoch's Post, yall should check it out.  When did Human Life become so unprecious? Why has it lost so much value? Did yall know that before governments decide whether to go in and stop a genocide, they crunch numbers and see how much money it would cost to go in and end a massacre. Such coldheartedness, how the hell does money compare to Human Life? This is a classic case of "what will it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his/her soul". Honestly, humanity has lost it's soul. Human Compassion is now a joke, just because you say "Aww" and "Wow" after hearing about suffering does not mean that you are a compassionate person.

When I was a christian, I use to honestly get depressed when I taught about why God would let children die in Africa from every sort of thing. I asked myself, why would a God who's supposed to be loving and good let innocent good people die? Why would he let women in Congo get raped repeatedly on a daily basis. And I came across this verse in Roman's 9:15 and I swear that verse changed my outlook on life forever. The verse says "15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy"

This verse really struck me as frigging cold, so as I dey like this the only reason am doing well is because God decided to have mercy on me, he showed compassion to me and that is why I am able to jolly. But for the loser woman/child/man in Uganda, Somalia, indonesia, pakistan, Sudan etc obviously their own luck has run out. Our heavenly father, has chosen to not show mercy/compassion on them, and well I guess that is their lot in life. This is basically my attitude right now, there is no need to be having pity on such people anymore because they are obviously losers. If God in all his wisdom, could not see it within himself to have mercy on kids such as this child who was stalked by the vulture, why should I a mere human being now have mercy/pity on such a kid? I mean God is wiser than me isn't he? He has already showed that the boy below is not worthy of his mercy. I wonder what I have that that little boy does not have, that the almighty would choose to show mercy/compassion on lil ole me and then neglect to show the same mercy on this boy being stalked by a vulture waiting for it to die.
If you were God for a day, would you have mercy on this kid?

In conclusion, most of you might not agree with my analysis of this. But more than one of you have wondered about why God would let kids suffer in Africa, Asia etc. Why woulld a loving God let kids live in such misery? I hope that I have clearly proven to you all why such things happen under the almighty's watchful eye. Because he alone decides who he'll show mercy to and who he won't show mercy to. You feel me?

GENOCIDE!!!!

This is a topic that has always intrigued me. What is Genocide? Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious or national group. Examples include : Rwanda, the Holocaust, Amalekites, Armenians etc lol.
I have always wondered, how it is possible for  HUMAN BEINGS to stand aside and watch while genocide is committed by some people against another group of people. Even during World War 2, no nation went to the Jews defence until they realized that Hitler planned to take over the world. It sickens me when I realized that the only reason other nations entered the war was not because of the plight of the Jews. But for the fact that Hitler was threatening their own national security.

When Rwanda’s turn rolled around, no nation went in to stop it. Afterall, it was not in the interest of anybody to stop a bunch of Africans from killing each other. Everybody waited till the murders were over, then every nation including the UN rushed to see who could be first to offer up apologies, vowing that that sort of genocide would not be allowed to take place again in the world.

Right now as I am typing, there are people who are being systematically and deliberately exterminated in Darfur, Sudan. Is anybody doing anything to stop it? No. And I will tell you why. They are waiting for the genocides in Darfur to end, and then they will rush out to the microphones with their “apologies’ in hand and give the best speeches and then call it a day. Human Beings as a whole are not capable of understanding large scale murder. Stalin said it best, “one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is statistics”. When I talk to some of my Christian friends about genocide, they are horrified, they abhor it, they rebuke it, etc. But then I point out to them, the genocides that took place in the bible. When I point that out to them, they respond by saying “Oh he’s God, he can do whatever he wants” or they say “That was in the Old Testament” our God has changed, he is more merciful.” My friends were able to rebuke genocides committed by men, but they were incapable of rebuking genocides committed by a “God”?

In some cases, I’ve seen some of my Christian friends pray to God to stop the genocide taking place in Darfur, and I usually think to myself “What are these people praying for? Or who are they praying to? The same God who stood by and watched/ignored the cries/pleas/prayers of his own “chosen people (Jews)” as they got slaughtered by a dictator claiming to be doing “God’s Will”?
Now, why would that very same God now give a crap about a bunch of “Africans” getting slaughtered in the desert? Like forreal though, everyone knows that God does not give a crap about Africa or Africans.

My point is this, we as humans should learn to rebuke evil no matter who it is committed by. You can’t excuse Genocide on one level, then rebuke it on another level. Sooner or later, you become apathetic to genocide. I feel that we as humans have become “numb” to large scale deaths, afterall if the people being killed are not family, friends, relatives why should I care? This was the same mentality people had in World War two until Hitler decided to come for them as well. The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. People like you and I, who wake up every morning fully conscious of people being systematically slaughtered and we do nothing about it. What really pains me is the apathy, we really do not give two shits about people getting exterminated. I came across this quote concerning Apathy. "Apathy and evil. The two work hand in hand. They are the same, really, Evil wills it. Apathy allows it. Evil hates the innocent and the defenseless most of all. Apathy doesn't care as long as it's not personally inconvenienced"

In conclusion, the genocide in Darfur will continue, until one side gets tired of killing and the other side gets tired of dying. Then maybe, peace talks will start and then the “International Community” will again issue another apology vowing that this sort of “genocide” will not be allowed to take place in our world again.*STORY* Then fools like me, will go and do research papers on “The Genocide in Darfur” just like fools before me went and did research on the “Genocide in Rwanda” so that I can get a good grade. Why are we able to seat by and watch as human beings get slaughtered, and we do not even pressure our governments to do anything. Why? Because it does not affect us directly. Classic example of Human Selfishness but I summit to you, that genocide might not be happening to you right now, but one day it will surely come to your own country, your own tribe or even your own religious group.
"First they came for the Jews but I did not speak up - because I was not a Jew
Then they came for the Tutsis in Rwanda but I did not speak up - because I was not a Tutsi
Then they came for the Africans in Darfur but I did not speak up - because I was not an African in Darfur.
The day will come when people will come for "us" to, and there will be nobody to speak up for us.
Hitler of German was responsible for 21 million deaths.
Mao of China was responsible for 34 million deaths.
Stalin of Russia was responsible for 62 million deaths.
My Question to you all is : When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it??
Jesus himself said "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

I THANK YOU OH SADISTIC GOD

(Our friend "controversy" has just notified me of his decision to leave the blog. Apparently, there has been pressure from family and friends. He has been ordered to cease "posting/writing" so he shall be leaving the blog. He is not able to write a farewell post as any more posts might put him into deeper wahala. Furthermore, I and the other blog authors have decided to move the blog to a new URL. *truth-don-die.blogspot.com*. We will move to this URL come tuesday of next week) *Blasphemy*

(Now back to Enoch's post)

Let us use this opportunity to first thank God for its mercies.

While pondering why I had no ideas for today's post, I remembered Cornelius. My very first puppy as a kid. You see, I was such an evil little brat. At one point I even made an attempt to cook Cornelius alive in a makeshift pot! Well, that was a one time wicked act, but what I did pretty often involved getting the marble hallway wet with soapy water and then placing a bowl of food on the opposite end from Cornelius. I used to get a kick out of watching him knock his head around as he stumbles while running to the bowl. And when he got to it, I'll take the bowl to the other end. I wanted to feed a cruel psychological need just because I could.

I can see why as a kid It will be easy to miss the irony of my sadistic ways. I knew and thought little about the nature of our existence but now I can clearly see the correlation between my evil and God's sadism. Its almost like I can hear her snickering to herself in a Dr. evil kind of pose. "I'll create man and give him a full spectrum of consuming urges and I'll punish him for submitting to them."

Haven't got too many questions today. I'll just like the prayer warriors amongst us to say a thing or two about why; "God" gives us a brain and punishes for not having faith? Gives us a sexual drive and punishes for premarital sex? Gives us a lustful heart and yet condemns lust. The list of carnal longings is a long one.

In a way it is worse than Cornelius and I. It is more akin to my creating the dog and giving him a compelling longing for food solely for the purpose of entertaining myself with his soapy stumbles. Religious books might make it seem like God is trying to get us to some higher level of restraint abi spiritual maturity out of her love for us but I bet Cornelius felt the same too. No one knows if she is just ROTFLHFAO watching us struggle. Feeding a cruel psychological need just because she can. I say that's artfully sadistic.

GOD APPROVES OF HOMOSEXUALITY AND HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT GOING TO HELL!!!

Please before I go on, I do not really intend this post to be one in which I find a problem with the bible or anything. I feel that this should be a "chill" post, just follow me and think and lets get through this "less controversial post" today. Please open your bibles to "Hosea 1:1-10..

God commanded Hosea, prophet of Israel to basically go and marry a prostitute, sleep with her, make her his wife and use her to deliver babies that the lord would use as an example to showcase how much he detested his chosen people "jews".

God commanded/gave the go ahead to Hosea to go and marry a prostitute. First the woman was a prostitute, and when she got married she committed adultery. Hosea threw her out, and God told him to go and take her back again after she had gone back to her "whoring" ways. Hosea was already unequally yoked with this "whore" but he got a "pass" because God gave him the "greenlight" to commit this sins in his name.

Now if another pastor in this our times was to do something that went against God's teachings, but told us that God gave him a "pass" or that God "commanded" him to do it. Would we believe him/her or would we throw such a pastor out of the church. Would we not leave that particular church saying that that man of God had gone rogue and was now a "false prophet". My point is this, Hosea  the prophet was able to marry a prostitute/adulterer and the people did not question his claim that "God" told him to do it. They took him at his word when he said God told him to do it.

I am not sure whether any of you have heard about the tale of Carlton Pearson. He was a black preacher who was very popular, had a megachurch until suddenly he had an awakening. He started preaching that there was no hell, and that God had told him gays where supposed to be loved. He even went as far as preaching a gospel of "inclusion", that nobody was going to hell and that everybody was saved.

My point is this, this man claimed that God told him all these things, he says that he has been told by God to say "these things". So why did the church kick him out, he was literally tossed out of the church. Naturally, he was branded a heretic, shunned by his fellow preachers and if it was in the olden days, homeboy would have been strung up to a stake and burnt at that lovely stake.. Why would a preacher who had everything going good for him, suddenly risk the "err" of his fellow preachers and church members by preaching such stuff if what he was saying wasn't "TRUE"? Why would he suddenly start saying stuff he knew would get him in trouble? So apparently, he now preaches in a small church, gays, sinners, etc are welcome in his church and he preaches a gospel of inclusion.

When Hosea did something that went against God's teachings, he got a pass because God commanded him to do what he did, even though it was a sin. Carlton Pearson does something that goes agaisnt the teaching of the bible, and he is branded a heretic. Why the double standard? Where is the "FAITH"? Why do christians limit "God"? I mean he works in mysterious ways, so we should clearly not hold him to the standards we ourselves judge to be true. As i've previously pointed out, God does not necessarily have to obey/follow his own "laws/commandments" concerning homosexuals. Who says that God could not have changed his mind concerning "gays"? I mean it's not as if he can create another "Post New" Testament portion of the bible and let everybody know he has changed his mind like he did in the New Testament. But lets be honest with ourselves, even if God has "inspired" a writer to write another testament of the bible, which one of us is going to believe such bull? Even christians themselves would toss such a person who claims to have written a "Newer Testament" out of the church and probably have him/her killed. In the Old Testament, a whole lot of laws where made that were later repealed/amended in the New Testament by Jesus. For example, there was the "eye" for an "eye" law that was repealed by Jesus and other hosts of laws that were repealed. So, if God could do repeal some of his laws in the OT and then provide brand new ones for the NT, why is it impossible to think that he could now very well approve of "homosexuality"?

In conclusion, GOD APPROVES OF HOMOSEXUALITY AND HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT GOING TO HELL!! according to the "man of God" Carlton Pearson. If you want to learn more about this preacher, the link to his videos will be posted below.

My Beliefs, My Experience, and Setting the Record Straight..

Well, hello. I thought I would take an opportunity to introduce myself. I am Controversy's cousin, but as you will soon notice he and I disagree on a lot things, especially religion. I'm glad to be joining this site as a proud, Born-Again, non-denominational Christian. I am not stupid, I am not brainwashed, I am not uneducated (I am getting a double-major in Biology and Creative Writing, Pre-Med. Yes, I want to be an OB/GYN after medical school, and if that grosses you out, well, someone has to do it, right?). I am a fundamentalist when it comes to the Bible, and I am always up for a good discussion of actual, Biblical text... but when it comes to personal beliefs, honestly I won't waste my breath fighting because there is nothing to talk about between me and a potential opponent unless that person also beleives that the Bible is the Truth and God's Word.

When I was younger, being a Christian was something that was a part of me mainly because of my mother, and the fact that it made me feel good. But when I went through my first year of college, I was on my own and little by little I began to compromise the standards that I'd always secretly wanted to break. I didn't drink, do drugs, or have sex (proud virgin talking), but I did end up in a relationship that I shouldn't have been in, and when I broke out of that relationship, I went through a very hard time. It wasn't exactly depression, but it was very close to it. I felt so lost and so bereft and so raw with pain... I had never felt that kind of loss before. Sure, I broke up with him at my mother's request because she saw the change in my character and she knew I needed to get back on track. But I really liked him and even though I knew he was bad for me, we had really good times together and the attraction between us was so strong...

It would take so much more than this blog post to describe how lost I felt. It was at this time that I rediscovered my connection with Jesus. Before you click away to another blog post, hear me out. I repented to God for turning away from Him and I began to pray and read my Bible again. I read the Psalms over and over, because my self-worth was so low and I needed to be reminded of how God loves me. It didn't happen overnight, nor in a week, nor a month (it took time for me to break myself down, it would take time for me to build myself up), but God gave me the strenght to go through the day-to-day and one day I woke up and I was over my ex. Basically, over weeks and weeks of prayer and dedication, I discovered the goodness of God for myself without my parents' help, and I realized that I truly couldn't live without Him. The peace and the joy that I feel daily is overwhelming, and I wasn't feeling like this when I was disconnected from my Maker.

I need to take a break here and stress to you people: if you are curious/doubtful about God, ASK HIM TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU! Do NOT rely on what OTHER people think. I'm not bashing the other writers on this blog, but you should view this blog as what it is: a gathering of opinions. Why don't you try crying out to God and ask Him to show himself to you?

That would have been a perfect place to end, wouldn't it? But I'm not finished :) A very wonderful young man by the name of Controversy asked me a question about Christianity that I couldn't answer at the time, and I felt very bad, because it was a very smart and valid question. He asked me over Skype, "If God is so good, then why did He command the Israelites to destroy the inhabitants of many towns as they marched toward the Promised Land?" Well, I'm going to throw a lot of information at you all in a short time, so hold on to your office chairs.

Basically, the Bible says that "God is the same yesterday, today, and forever." This means that the same love that He has now is the same love He had back then in the New Testament. The problem with most people is that their view of God is warped. IF God is love, and if He is PERFECT as the Bible says, then He must equally hate. God does NOT hate his creations. He hates the things that destroy his people, like sin and wickedness---the people that God ordered the Israelites (who were his chosen people) to destroy, were people who were dedicated to sin, wickedness, and false gods; God did not want these people to lead the Israelites astray and lead them to destruction! On the flip side, you also read in the Bible what happened when Israel failed to carry out God's instructions. The tribes that worshiped false gods attacked Israel. NOT because God was punishing them, but because by sinning, the Israelites removed themselves from God's protection.

In conclusion, Controversy is right that God is love, but the thing is that God is also holy, so holy that He cannot be around sin. Just because a lot of people have venom towards the Most High God doesn't make Him any less of what the Bible tells us He is.

And that's all for now folks :) I'm gonna do a follow-up post on this later. Time for bed...

GOD DOES NOT LOVE THE WORLD AND HE DOES NOT HAVE ONLY ONE BEGOTTEN SON!!! PART 1.

(First of all, Happy Naija Independence day to everyone. Now back to the topic at hand).
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Every Christian that is serious with their religion will know this passage of the bible very well and will not waste any time to quote it as the proof of God's love for humanity and as the blue print for eternal salvation . Most of my points will be from the bible since most of our blog followers are christians who would not believe anything outside the bible.
There are three points raised in this very popular verse of the bible
1. That God loves the world or simply put he loves everyone
2. That the same God has ONLY one son
3. What you must do to be saved

Because of the long nature of this post, I will touch on points 1 and 2 today, and the last point 3 shall be saved for a later date.
1. THAT GOD LOVES THE WORLD OR SIMPLY PUT HE LOVES EVERYONE.
That God loves everyone is an illusion most christians would like to force down to people when its very clear in the bible that God sometimes choose those he like and those he don't . Infact God so much hate the world that when he is in his moods he can pick up the phone and call the devil and they play gamble with people's lives. In
Leviticus 20:23 God said
"And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them." in
Malachi 1:3 God said
"And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. "
In Romans 9:13 God said
" Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."
These are just but a few verse in the bible that shows that the  God of the bible is not very loving like he is claimed to be

2. THAT THE SAME GOD HAS ONLY ONE SON
so many bible believing christians believe that God has only son when their bible that they believe and quote from everyday states otherwise,
Adam was also God's son.
Adam, which was the son of God. Luke 3:38
Some of God's sons had sex with women producing a race of giants.
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all
which they chose. ... There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of
God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them. -- Genesis 6:2-4

Satan and his companions were sons of God.
The sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. Job 1:6
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD,
and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. -- Job 2:1
God's sons were present when the universe was created.

Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the
morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? -- Job 38:6-7
Christians are God's sons.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God. -- John 1:12

These above examples, have shown that Jesus was not the only son of God and that there were "Sons of God" who came before him. The question is: Has the Interpretation of the "Son of God been taken out of context"?  I shall touch on my third point later on.
TO BE CONTINUED!!

DID THE "TOWER OF BABEL" HAVE ANY ELEVATORS?

So last night, I honestly argued with two of my friends on the subject of christianity/bible until 3 a.m. During the cause of this argument/discussion, I happened on the topic of the tower of babel. The argument so far had definitely been lively and at times heated but it was held with splendid decorum.

Genesis 11:1-9

It is said that the tower of babel was so tall that it was almost reaching heaven, that God felt so threatened by it that he resolved to stop them from reaching heaven by giving them different languages. No yawa, baba God struck all the people there with different languages and they could no longer communicate with each other, hence the construction of the building stopped. Now to my question, HOW TALL COULD THE TOWER OF BABEL HAVE BEEN THAT IT WAS ALMOST REACHING HEAVEN? That would mean that this tower passed earth, entered space, passed pluto, jupiter, venus etc and was almost reaching heaven? Chai, come and see serious architecture, those builders deserve noble prizes. If you go to school, your ass should know that there is no way that building entered space, because obviously there is no gravity in space. Moreover, with a building that tall, how where the workers able to get to the top to keep on constructing? Elevator no dey, escalator no dey, space ship no dey, how where these mere men able to climb up to the top of the tower? They had no space suits, and in space they would be floating. And this is what vexes me with the bible and people who believe somuch in it, the truth is right there staring you in your freaking face but noooo you refuse to accept it because you don't want to deal with the responsiblity. After they will say controversy your to negative, you are to cynical, you are to pessimistic, you mock our religion, you criticize us tomuch. But why won't I mock your useless religion? I grow weary with every passing day because I see people living lies. People just refuse to think, I keep on repeating the same thing. 2 % of people think, 3% of people think that they think, 95% of people would rather die than think. I just do not understand it, why would people see the truth and choose to ignore it. It just does not make sense to me, and this weariness has translated into how I relate to people. Honestly, nothing human beings do can surprise me anymore, people are so scared to embrace the truth and this reality has ultimately affected how i relate to people around me this days. I have showed you guys the absurdity of the whole thing and people will still find a way to try to explain it?
There will be those who will say that maybe the "tower almost reaching heaven" should not be taken literally, to those people I say, if the tower was as tall as the largest sky scraper man has made, why has God not brought down those sky scrapers as well? So that side of the argument is not logical.
Then they wonder, why is it with all the things these guy says against religion/bible has God not struck him down with thunder. I summit to you that the reason God has not struck me down with thunder, is because I am telling the truth. It might not be the whole truth, but I know that I have at least done my part in asking questions. The bible says there was a tower, they say that the tower was almost reaching heaven. You have all seen spaceships enter space, so you all must believe that it is not made up, hence it is real. Now tell me, how is it possible that people wey no get elevators, escalators, spaceships or spacesuits were able to build a tower that was almost reaching heaven? A tower that was so tall, that it got a whole Almighty God worried, that he had to strike them with different languages? Please make una find me answer. if you can not find me answer, it's ok I have already forgiven you in advance. Hiss, Good Night abi na Good Morning jare.

P.S: I am sorry if anybody is offended with my tone in this particular blogpost, but in my defence I am writing this at 4 am, lol I could not sleep so I decided to write this as a draft and save it before I forgot about it tomorrow.

THE DAY I LOST MY FAITH!!!

First of all, I have never revealed this to anyone, but this particular passage in the bible was the straw that broke the camel's back. This made me renounce Christianity altogether. I and a friend used to have this bible questions discussions and so from time to time I would bring up a bible question or something that was bugging me in the bible so that she could answer. And truth be told, this my friend who I shall term as "Goddess" was usually on point when it came to answering bible questions. She did her best to answer my questions about the bible, so on a certain day I discovered this passage in 2 Samuel 12. I had read this passage so many times, but never took the time to really meditate on it, so as usual I brought this passage to the notice of "Goddess" and for the first time in our religious discussion history she did not have an answer. She flatout told me that "controversy, I honestly do not have an answer to this" I thank God that "goddess" is one of those sincere christians who say the truth no matter what. And with this introduction I present this blog post to you.

P.S. So as I was about to post this blogpost, I open my email and staring right at me is an email from my aunty. Who I shall call "Aunty O". Aunty "O" is my favorite aunty and apparently she's discovered that I've become a deist. Surprisingly, I am not worried about whether Aunty O will seek to inform my parents that their "First son" has turned into a deist. My parents are btw, firebrand christians. I am quite relieved, I knew that this day would surely come I do not agree with my parents religion, and it's about time that they know about that. I believe that every man/woman must do two things alone in this world, he/she must do their own believing and their own dying. Anywayz BACK TO THE MAIN POST.

The question is "Is God obligated to follow the laws he himself laid down for us to follow? Or can he flout them whenever he chooses? Does he rule arbitrarily and are we forbidden to question his laws even when he himself fails to obey them? Why is it that so many Christians strongly believe that God should be able to get away with anything? If God kills, lies, cheats, discriminates, and otherwise behaves in a manner that puts the Mafia to shame, that's okay, he's God. He can do whatever he wants. But anyone else who adheres to this same philosophy is said to have had his/her sense of morality, decency, justice and humaneness warped beyond recognition by the very book that is supposedly preaching the opposite.

And I ask you, are we truly all equal in God's eyes? Lets be honest, everyone preaches that everybody is equal in the eyes of the Lord, but is that really the case? Take for example, the book of Deuteronomy 24:16. Where God explicitly commands/states that "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin"

Fast-forward to 2 Samuel 12, God apparently does a roundabout when he kills/murders the innocent child of King David after David had Uriah the husband of his current wife Bethsheeba killed. This is what Nathan the prophet told David
2 Samuel 12 - 13
"For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

13And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

My fundamental problem with this passage is the very clear and straightforward fact that God cut David some very serious slack and openly flouted his own Law that he himself had created. The child did not deserve to die for the crimes of David. David committed the crime, David deserved to pay for it by himself. Common sense tells we humans, that we do not punish somebody else for the crimes of another, that is totally wrong and if we humans created by God have been able to come to that very same conclusion. Why would God go ahead and break his own law, so that he could protect David? Was David that great a man, that the almighty himself was forced to break a law on his behalf? When Moses disobeyed God by striking the "rock" in exodus God punished him by not letting him into the promised land, when Jonah refused to obey God's orders to go to Ninevah in the book of Jonah, God also punished him by putting him in the belly of a whale for three whole days. When Paul, persecuted Christians in the new testament, God struck him blind for three days. The sins all these people committed ultimately "pale" in comparison to that of King David. Kind David murdered a man, a husband and moreover a God fearing man and King David got to escape scot free. His new born baby had to bear the brunt of his punishment, when God had explicitly stated that the "children will never pay for the sins of the father".

In conclusion, if any one of you can provide me with a clear/succint explanation to this question, I might gradually start to regain faith again.
