Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

People always say I love someone so much that I can die for them. Ummm No. Personally i no fit do am. Can not happen. To lay down your life for another, your life must be majorly sucking at that moment. What kind of self esteem problem is that? Your life is not what living, but some other individual's life is more important? Just tell the truth, you have been looking for a way to die, and you chose the "honorable" way. Why should I push someone out of the way of a car, and I stand there like a mugu as the car hits me? If I cant save you and save myself, then I will be alongside Azazel eating rice at your funeral, screaming "why God, why, why him/her?"

Life should be cherished, loved, not thrown away like a used rag. So if God has deemed that it is your time to go, who am I to fight his divine will? I am nothing but a mere mortal. Death is coming for someone and I then open my big mouth to say "not him/her", "pick me", because my existence as it is now is not worth anything, If you dont take me now, na suicide go happen. Love each other as you love yourself, If i dont love myself enough to not throw it away, Imaging what i can do with my neighbor's life. Suicide is suicide, lets call it what it is, it is not love it is suicide.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. More like "Lower self esteem hath no man than this, that a man throw his life away for his friend".

LIFE - A GIFT OR A CURSE?

The other day I got into a discussion with Ruggedman on Twitter about a statement he made about Life being a gift. So as to be fair and before somebody accuses me of slandering the good man's name I will post his tweets on here. Surely he will have no problem with that, afterall any man who can record the phone call conversation he had with another man (9ice) shouldn't have a problem with me using his tweets to make an point. *grins* Totally disagree with the way he handled that situation btw.
Anyhoo, Ruggedman tweeted this  -
"So in what ever u r doing right now,or the situation or condition u r in just pause n thank God for the gift of life."
I replied with this - @RuggedyBaba Life is not a gift to everybody o, just because it's a gift to u does not mean it's not a curse to somebody else.

And to qualify my reply to him, I sent him a Twitpic of this kid who was being stalked by the vulture and asked him whether he thought the kid in the picture considered life as a gift or as a curse?

My guy then tweeted back saying - Azazel in which ever country dat is,they av a leader n its their responsibility to cater for their pple.It woulda been cool if u were in dat pic, helpin out
I replied his tweet with - @RuggedyBaba and wat is God's responsibility?Wen the leaders cannot fulfill their responsibility?Surely the almight shud not be a bystander
He replied with - He will nt come down to intervene.Question d leaders n nt God or me.RTAzazel:  and wat is God's responsibility?Wen the leaders cannot fulfill their responsibility?Surely the almight shud not be a bystander
I then wondered why if God could not intervene to save a little boy about to die, why then do we bother praying at all.
I replied - @RuggedyBaba if God will not come down 2 intervene why then do countless nigerian pastors pray 4 him 2 intervene 4 Nigeria's situation?

So I then asked him how he knew God could not come down to intervene he replied

I only responded out of courtesy. What exactly did u do to help d boys situation?RT Azazel:  but u made a statement and I questioned the statement.Nd since wen did u become God's spokesperson on earth baba?U be pastor?
He then replied with this - Since when did u become d spokesperson for d boy in d pic?n what gives u d right to question "my statement"RT Azazel:  but u made a statement and I questioned the statement.Nd since wen did u become God's spokesperson on earth baba?U be pastor?

Anyways after this back and forth, the guy asked me what I had done to help the boy in the picture, obviously the boy in the picture already don die, go hell come back enter bus, come die again enter heaven. (Meaning the boy had been dead for a cool min). But I realised that when some people can't give u a satisfactory answer to a satisfactory question, they throw the question right back at you. Rugged now started asking me what I had done to help people who had suffered. Personally I believe that people who ask questions like that need to have their heads checked. Because u are  asking a person to be specific on how much money he/she has donated to a cause or what they have done to help suffering people across the world.
I asked him whether he wanted me to tell him how much I had donated to the poor? Such questions are silly, because no matter what answer I gave my charitable efforts would be diminished by the person asking the question. Remember you can never give enough, so if I had told Ruggedman that I gave $25 every month to PLANUSA he could have asked me how come I didn't give $50? If I said I had donated all my life savings including my house he would ask me why I did not donate my BB.
I don't know if you guys get my point, but we sha went off on a tangent from the original question on whether Life was a gift or a curse.
I told him that I believed that Life could be a gift to others and could be a curse to some. Pretty Reasonable Yeah? What do u guys think?
And also was he right when he said that God could not intervene to save the little boy's life???
If you were God, would u save the kids life? If no, why?

HUMAN COMPASSION IS A JOKE!!!

So I just finished watching Blood Diamonds again, and well at the end of the movie they said only 40 countries signed an accord that would stop the illegal sale of diamonds, and this frigging made me sad this early morning. There are 200 countries in the world, how can only 40 countries sign an accord that stopped the illegal sale of diamonds. Diamonds btw which help put a lot of people in misery, people die for such shit. Honestly, yall shouldn't think I am one sentimental fool, but it bugs me how people can just stand by and watch people die like that.
I have a question for you guys, If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound"? I got this inspiration from   Enoch's Post, yall should check it out.  When did Human Life become so unprecious? Why has it lost so much value? Did yall know that before governments decide whether to go in and stop a genocide, they crunch numbers and see how much money it would cost to go in and end a massacre. Such coldheartedness, how the hell does money compare to Human Life? This is a classic case of "what will it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his/her soul". Honestly, humanity has lost it's soul. Human Compassion is now a joke, just because you say "Aww" and "Wow" after hearing about suffering does not mean that you are a compassionate person.

When I was a christian, I use to honestly get depressed when I taught about why God would let children die in Africa from every sort of thing. I asked myself, why would a God who's supposed to be loving and good let innocent good people die? Why would he let women in Congo get raped repeatedly on a daily basis. And I came across this verse in Roman's 9:15 and I swear that verse changed my outlook on life forever. The verse says "15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy"

This verse really struck me as frigging cold, so as I dey like this the only reason am doing well is because God decided to have mercy on me, he showed compassion to me and that is why I am able to jolly. But for the loser woman/child/man in Uganda, Somalia, indonesia, pakistan, Sudan etc obviously their own luck has run out. Our heavenly father, has chosen to not show mercy/compassion on them, and well I guess that is their lot in life. This is basically my attitude right now, there is no need to be having pity on such people anymore because they are obviously losers. If God in all his wisdom, could not see it within himself to have mercy on kids such as this child who was stalked by the vulture, why should I a mere human being now have mercy/pity on such a kid? I mean God is wiser than me isn't he? He has already showed that the boy below is not worthy of his mercy. I wonder what I have that that little boy does not have, that the almighty would choose to show mercy/compassion on lil ole me and then neglect to show the same mercy on this boy being stalked by a vulture waiting for it to die.
If you were God for a day, would you have mercy on this kid?

In conclusion, most of you might not agree with my analysis of this. But more than one of you have wondered about why God would let kids suffer in Africa, Asia etc. Why woulld a loving God let kids live in such misery? I hope that I have clearly proven to you all why such things happen under the almighty's watchful eye. Because he alone decides who he'll show mercy to and who he won't show mercy to. You feel me?

I WANT TO LIVE WELL, SO THAT I CAN DIE WELL.

(I just realised that I never formally introduced myself to blogger town or blogsville or wetin una dey call am lol. Well here it goes, I go by controversy, I am a Political Science Major and incase you were wondering about the previous blog posts, those posts are previous posts I myself wrote for my friends at NIGERIANMAFIA.COM. Check it out if you will please. )

Recently, I have been suffering a lot of what I call "Death Anxiety". Death Anxiety to me is  fear of death. This recent increase in my fear of death was brought about after I had finished reading "The Death of Ivan IIyich" by Leo Tolstoy. Please I know that not many people love reading books, I have read the bible, read parts of the Koran, read tons of inspirational books but none of those books shook me to the core as this particular book. For those really interested in the book, here is a copy of the book online (http://manybooks.net/titles/tolstoylother08death_of_ivan_ilych.html).

There were a lot of people who adviced me after I told them about this book that I should not worry about death, that I am still young that I have a lot to look forward to. I have come to the conclusion that such advice is really not that true. Death awareness helps you set your priorities straight, anybody who has dealt with anybody who had cancer can testify to the ability of cancer victims to think clearly and set their priorities straight. When death is knocking at your door, you immediately acquire a clarity of mind and you are able to discard trivial things with such ease. I do not want to wait till i catch cancer to have that clarity of mind, I want to acquire it right now so that I can be able to really understand what the important things in life are. I want to indeed live well, so that I can die well.

After reading the book, I sat down and meditated on my life, one of the themes of that book was the fact that the man in the book lived a life of regret. Sure he did the right things society expects from each one of us, he went to school, had good grades, got a good job, married a good wife, had good children but at the end of the day all that meant NOTHING!!. So last night after really thinking about this book i asked myself what is it about death in particular that most frightens me? I realised that I am frightened by two thoughts. One of which is the thought of dying without letting the good people in my life know how much they meant to me and how much I valued them. Two is I did not want to look back maybe 60 years from now when am close to dying and start regretting not having lived life the way I wanted to. So at 2am last night, I literally went on my email, and typed emails to every single person that I had ever wronged and who I had failed to apologise to and I apologised to them and let them know what they meant to me, the influence they had had on my life, and told them all the things I should have told them before our friendships went sour. I have gotten some emails back from some of them and they have all been positive feedbacks, honestly I was really proud of myself after I finished typing those emails and hitting send!. There is no better feeling that knowing that you have let someone you deeply care about know how much they mean to you. I want to live well, so that i can die well. Honestly I will recommend what I did for everybody and please i take God beg una. If you ever have time, read that book by Leo Tolstoy it will change your life. I do have a question thought for anyone who reads this post. What is it in particular that most frightens you about death?
